I have spent some time with Softaculous under a reseller account I have with a hosting company under DirectAdmin Control Panel (I did not purchase the license directly and do the install), and also have spent some time going through a number of demos at various hosts. It seems there is support for email notification and backup and then capabilities of the  Softaculous to upgrade application packages and scripts. However, this install of Webcal has never notified me of an update (originally installed 1.2.3 and now 1.2.5 is the latest). There is a few other threads on here asking about the upgrade button like this one indicated this could be package specific:

Also if I go to a site like this demo at another Host, clearly shows the upgrade

The reason I am asking is the Webcal install was working for a time, then the database got hacked and thousands of spam messages were injected and required major clean-up. I am not certain, but would suspect the Webcal 1.2.5 version probably would have helped protect the calendar database.

If it is a licensing issue, can you provide specifics on which versions do and do not include the Upgrade feature?
