"backup created by automated upgrade", WP backup created when backups are not enabled (14 Replies, Read 3809 times)

I've noticed in the last few days that a number of customers are seeing Softaculous backups show up in their accounts when they have the automated backups fully disabled.

Based on what I'm seeing, it *seems* like these customers have Softaculous set to automatically update a particular script (WP in this case).  When Softaculous detected a newer version of WP, it ran that backup prior to upgrading just in case.  Is that a safe assumption?

Is there a way to tell it not to do that?  Or should I advise my customers to turn off Softaculous from auto-upgrading if they don't want this to happen?

Thank you,
Jason
