 WHM 62.0.8 & cpanel, can't install Wordpress 4.7.2 (7 Replies, Read 3167 times)

I am running WHM/cpanel 62.0 build 8. Underlying system CentOS, Cloud Linux, Kernel Care, etc.

I just activated ionCube in Tweaks so I could install Softalucous - no problem there, it added 432 scripts.

I'm trying to install Wordpress 4.7.2 and installation stalls here:

The following errors were found:
    The MySQL Connection could not be established
    The MySQL Connection could not be established

Google showed me that cpanel username length might be an issue, so I set it to 'soft2', well under the sixteen character limit. I don't see where I'd tell Softaculous a username/password. Don't think it's IP related, there are a couple of Wordpress installs on the system, they have no trouble reaching the MySQL port.
