Hello.

In Webuzo >> Apps, I read: CSF (Firewall) is no longer maintained by its developers. You can still continue to use CSF as is and it helps you protect your server. The Webuzo team will soon release a CSF like utility for servers as well.

What future do you have planned for CSF?

Are you going to do the same as other control panels that will make an updated CSF fork available to customers?

Regards!!!

We plan to maintain a fork of CSF to ensure continued support and compatibility. In the future, we may also develop a new firewall solution.
The CSF fork will be free, and details about any new application are not finalized yet.

Hi,

During testing, we identified a few improvements that need to be made. Our development team is currently working on them, which has caused a slight delay. We will inform you as soon as the testing is complete.

Thank you for your patience.

ok, testing, doing something, testing and we are now months past last update of CSF. Are you going to maintain it or not since hackers are having fun and with AI finding bugs is pretty easy. CSF seems to have several according to Cpanel (sorry to mention them) https://docs.cpanel.net/changelogs/configserver-security-firewall-csf-change-log/

Can we expect rapidly a supported Csf from you or do we need to go see elsewhere (and pray it works with Webuzo) ?

ok, good to know you offer this solution but what is the real difference between free and paid and as a webuzo licence holder do I have to go to paid if it offers something we can use or is it already covered by our webuzo licence?

I see it can migrate csf (hopefully that was tested :-) or we are locked out )
Thanks

Hi,

You can use SecLayer whether you have a Softaculous or Webuzo license.

The CSF migration feature is also working and has been tested. It is designed to migrate your existing CSF configuration and rules.

If you face any issue during the migration or have any questions, please let us know and we will be happy to help.

Thank you.

migrated, was easy enough with csf settings retained. Now read all the options .. the list is long

licence says trail till 09/09/26, what happens after that ?

also, a little step by step to uninstall csf once we are ok with seclayer would be nice. Avoid breaking stuff :-) or can we use the standard remove app option ?

Hi,

Glad to hear that the CSF migration went smoothly and that your settings were retained.

Regarding the license, we will update it internally. The SecLayer license will sync with your existing Softaculous or Webuzo license, so you do not need to purchase a separate license.

For CSF, SecLayer does not uninstall it automatically. During the migration, CSF is disabled so that SecLayer can take over the firewall functionality.

We recommend using SecLayer for a few days, and if you are satisfied with it, you can then manually uninstall CSF from your server.

Thank you.

Hello.

And what is the future of Seclayer?
Are you going to include malware scanner for example in the future? Or only firewall.

Regards

Hi,

We will try to include malware scanning in a future version of SecLayer. We are also considering adding more security features in the future.

Thank you.
