Hi,  I am looking at AMPPS as am impressed by the features and simplicity, and would like to know how secure it is to use in a production environment.  It won't be for heavy use, but will be running 2-3 public websites.  I have access to a fast connection (100Mb) so want to make the most of it.

Would you suggest it, or is there anything I should do to make sure the sites are as secure as possible (ignoring any security issues in the sites themselves of course).

Thanks

Hi,

AMPPS is meant for development purpose only. We don't recommend to use it on production servers.

If you are using any Panel like cPanel, DirectAdmin you can use Softaculous and if you not using any Panel you can use Webuzo.

Risk involved in AMPPS is that all the links like http://localhost/ampps, http://localhost/ampps-admin, http://localhost/phpmyadmin, etc are known to everyone. Apache is configured for development server. You will have to configure manually for production server. Also its not tested on any production server from our side.

There are many such factors so we don't recommend to use it on production servers.

its very secured ampps for on a server why not you think!!!

the only think you must do is , if you make a domain ,or subdomain ,make it in a new map like C://Ampps/mydomain1.com
subdomain like this C://Ampps/test.mydomain.com

dont make in c://Ampps/www

if you use myadmin or a new and better ampps that i have running in ampps is sqlbuddy its alot better than phpmyadmin.

if you use this 2 sql bases make its on your servers like this C://Ampps/mysql.mydomain.com or phpmyadmin.mydomain.com

make sure you know how to use root and users profiles in databases.

localhost is can you change  on a msql , on my ampps is this mysl1.mydomain.com or ect...

no single user out there can inter localhost ist local and all my domains are running on 127.0.0.1 and my server is 192.168.1.6 and there is the router
noway that you can hack the systems ammps tested to the full

its a good product if you know what your do :D
