Hi
Simple but common situation I guess: I use an out-of-the-box Plesk server; currently running Plesk 9.3.0. That machine comes with
php 5.1.6-20.el5_2.1
and most importantly there are many horror stories of people trying to manually update PHP on Plesk and breaking both the server and clients sites.
However some Scriptaculous installs such as Magento do not work and explain the min. PHP required version is more recent, ie 5.2 for that case.
The following errors were found :
* The PHP version is less than the required 5.2.0 version!
How could I overcome this, is Softaculous really usable on Plesk ?
Best regards.
Update: I have been eargerly waiting for the Typo3 installer, its install went fine according to Scriptaculous, but the homepage of my test install says

Virtualizor - The Next Generation VPS Panel
Webuzo - It is Softaculous Standalone for Enterprises, SMB, Developers. Deploy it on Dedicated Servers, VPS, Virtual Appliances or the Cloud
Pinguzo - Server and Domain Monitoring tool
PopularFX - Marketplace of WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Bootstrap themes
Remote Installer - Use Softaculous over FTP/FTPS/SFTP
Seems a bit unfair to question whether Softaculous can be used on Plesk. Seems to me that it's doing a good job of protecting users from installing those scripts that require an up-to-date version of PHP on Plesk's out-of-date version.
The question that the original poster should be asking is why their Plesk PHP is out-of-date, and what security vulnerabilities they are therefore exposed to. But that's not a question for this forum.
