AMPPS 2.2 fresh install, OS X 10.9

Hi,

When I add a new domain mapping, it is not doing anything unless I check the "add to hosts" option. If I do this, when I quit AMMPS, the host is not removed from the hosts file so I cannot access the production site (on the net) unless I modify the hosts file manually. I am not sure how all this is supposed to work, but basically what anyone would expect from this feature is the following:

1. when adding a new domain, then the mapping is made instantly and accessing this domain direct to the local version
2. when AMMPS quits or Apache is stopped, the mapping is removed so accessing the domain goes to the production site on the net
3. it would be nice to have an option in the admin panel to temporarily disable the domain, only option for now is to remove it.

So basically the domain feature is not working at all for me as I have to patch the hosts file manually, which is exactly what I want to avoid when using a software like AMPPS. FYI this feature works perfectly fine in MAMP Pro.

Also I didn't see any option to start Apache and MySQL automatically when launching the AMPPS app, this is also an ultra basic option most users should need :)

That said thanks for this software which looks promising, but I am not yet keen to use it until the above (basic) issues are resolved.

Hi,

Thank you for the suggestions. We will surely work on these things.

Although you can add a domain "example.com" and access "www.example.com" for live site. Its not a solution, just a workaround :)

You can find this by Right clicking on Ampps in the dock. Configuration -> Ampps.

oh got it, thanks, I would never have thought to look for this there. I would suggest you add an access to this Preferences menu from the main app screen.
