   Again I updated ampps to the latest version and again something is not working.

Update stated successful and 100% progress but something went wrong. Apache is not starting and apache error.log is blank.

Again I waist time here trying to find a way to save my configuration of domain, alias and script installation.

that's all I've changed...  Maybe I should have waited to write this email because I'm really fed up. But other people should know how much trouble we can have with your product.

After the first failure a month or two ago, I ended up reinstalling ampps from scratch and lost all my script update since I don't want to reinstall joomla over an existing installation.

Anyway, anybody with help would be appreciated

Thanks and sorry for the rant.

The only thing I can't figure out how to backup and restore are the domain settings and the script installation information. for example I use joomla installed in domain mydomain.me. This provides me with some easy upgrades for my joomla sites.

If I could just know where to reapply those settings or which file in my backup needs to be copied over I would even bother trying to update and just reinstall as you say.

So I would "mainly" backup mysql data folder what else?
Is copying over the AMPPS/ampps/data folder content do the trick?

Thanks for your help

Hi,

You can backup your installations from Ampps Enduser panel :
http://ampps.com/wiki/How_to_Backup_an_Installation

You can then download the backup from AMPPS Enduser panel -> Backups page and use it to restore.
