Hello, not sure if my question is an ampps or mac issue.

Installed ampps for the first time (newbie), both Apache and MySQL are running.

However, my local links only work with https not http (get a 404, "The requested URL /, was not found on this server" error).

Some info:
• System 10.7.5
• Not using a proxy

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Please confirm if Ampps Apache is running, there might be a chance that bundled apache is conflicting with Ampps Apache. You can check it by running the following command in terminal:

Code
ps aux | grep httpd

If bundled apache is running, run the following command:

Code
sudo apachectl stop

In doing some more experimentation/research, I found that local host (Ampps admin, SQLite, php admin) is working o.k. on Firefox/Chrome.

Are there any specific settings for Safari to access my local host at http? (nothing is checked in my Network protocol/proxy settings, Bypass proxy setting is: *.local, 169.254/16)

I ran both commands (before realizing local host works in my other browsers), attached is a jpeg of the result.

I don't know if this matters, but MAMP/MAMP PRO were both previously installed on my machine, I'm pretty sure I had quit Apache before deleting both applications and installing Ampps.

Thanks again!

Hi,

MAMP Apache is running, so just kill it first if you have already uninstalled it. Also remove its file if any.

Run :
Code
killall httpd

Remove/Uninstall MAMP again if necessary.

Try starting AMPPS Apache again.
