Hi,

I've had issues with Windows 8 since day 1, and can only do some tasks by first uploading files to a remote server, using IE 10, but not other browsers.

After successfully starting Apache and MySQL if I click on the "AMPPS HOME" icon (h**p://localhost/ampps/) the php executes fine and I can do things like add a WordPress blog, but I can't subsequently access it through a browser using localhost. If I click on the "Local Web" icon then the web browser cant find the local host.

phpMyAdmin works.

I've edited the hosts file with no success.

This link doesn't work: h**p://127.0.0.1/

I've reset the firewall. I've uninstalled and resinstalled AMPPS twice. Another program was using port 80 intially, but I uninstalled a bunch of programs and was able to start Apache.

I've searched the web without finding a solution.

Thanks,
Brad

Looks like I have resolved this issue.

I had to delete the existing www folder, which contained my website and files, prior to reinstalling AMPPS. I believe I copied the information over from an old computer prior to installing AMPPS on this computer, and AMPPS never worked correctly.

Now when I click on the "Local Web" it opens in a browser window.
