I just noticed that on our Plesk and DirectAdmin servers the PHP version that is being displayed in the Softaculous admin area of each server is matching the actual PHP version on the server .... *but* on all our cPanel severs what we see is "PHP Version : 5.2.6" while we actually have 5.2.14 installed. I am not aware of any practical problems because of this. Can we ignore this? (We run Softaculous 3.0.)
cPanel has two PHP binaries and thats why you see the version "5.2.6"
The second binary is used for cPanel and WHM only while the primary binary is used for WWW.
