Hello, I am really new to Linux but I had a chance to get a server for really
Nice price for a project I had and now I want to split the server into 5-6 VPSs
I indeed like what I've red about Virtualizor and I am testing it but I am facing
A problem (more than one actually) I can not add VGs (Volume Groups)
what I want is simple ...I want to have a boot drive that is big enough
And then I want to have a volume group that uses all of the rest space
on bothe SSD drives , so I can assign them to the VPSs

My server specs are :
Dual Xeon E5-2670
32 GB DDR3 ECC RAM
2 × 240 SSD

<== here is my main problem !

when I run lvscan inside LVM here what I get:
Code

  ACTIVE            '/dev/vg/swap' [15.75 GiB] inherit
  ACTIVE            '/dev/vg/tmp' [1.00 GiB] inherit
  ACTIVE            '/dev/vg/root' [216.07 GiB] inherit

and this is the output of vgs
Code

VG  #PV #LV #SN Attr  VSize  VFree
  vg    1  3  0 wz--n- 232.88g 64.00m

and this is the ouput of fdisk -l
Code

Disk /dev/sda: 250.1 GB, 250059350016 bytes, 488397168 sectors
Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk label type: dos
Disk identifier: 0x000184c5

Device Boot      Start        End      Blocks  Id  System

/dev/sdb1            2048  488396799  244197376  8e  Linux LVM

Disk /dev/mapper/vg-root: 232.0 GB, 232003731456 bytes, 453132288 sectors
Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes

Disk /dev/mapper/vg-swap: 16.9 GB, 16911433728 bytes, 33030144 sectors

Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes

please help me do it and I need details...

From the details I can see that you have two 250 Gb disks on your server.
You have a boot partition in one disk (sda) so the rest space is usable and the you have created LVM from the second one with most of the space from the LVM mounted on "/".

The space on the "/" partition will be used for storing OS templates in Virtualizor so it is recommended to have 80 - 100 GB space on "/", so that you can utilize the free space for creating VPSs.

We would recommend you to re-install your server with the following partition schema :

http://virtualizor.com/wiki/Install_KVM#Installation_Parameters

Also we would suggest you to use the same disk for boot partition and to create LVM to be mounted on "/" and used as swap, so that the second disk can be utilized for creating VPSs.
