Testing the custom package / Smaple File, How to test the installer of a custom script (4 Replies, Read 2992 times)

Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 15 Status:	Hi, i have created a custom install to my script and i like to test it before i submit to softaculous. so how can i do this. Also about the sample file, is there a sample file to one of the script currently used by softaculous; prestashop or wordpress (the sample.zip ) not the script just the sample installer that is used by softaculous. ? thanks for help

Group: Softaculous Team Post Group: Super Member Posts: 5805 Status:	Hi, You can test in on your server with Softaculous or you can also download AMPPS and test the package on your localhost : http://ampps.com/download You can download the package from your server at : /var/softaculous/SCRIPT/ where SCRIPT refers to the softaculous name of script. "wp" for WordPress and "presta" for PrestaShop. Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 15 Status:	ok i got these answer on the forum as i spend hours and hours to find more information, but you answer the same answer that other answered. i dont find /var/softaculous/installedscripts on my hosting i have .softaculous/installtions.php but i never find what you have said or the other said so i decided to post it again. also how to test that, even if if idont have softaculous installed ?! do i use the cus.zip do i unzip it !! do use the folder instead of the main installer. how does the zip folders will be installed , how to execute that.!!

Group: Softaculous Team Post Group: Super Member Posts: 5805 Status:	Hi, As you say that you have access to .softaculous folder and not /var/softaculous means that you do not have root access to the server. You will need to have root access to server to be able to add a Custom script to Softaculous. Here is the guide for the same : http://softaculous.com/docs/Adding_Custom_Scripts You may also ask you host to add the script for you as your host will have root access.
