There are a lot of tricky aspects which need to be sorted out before you actually get the installation working

... not as fast as other e-commerce apps like zencart or oscommerce. viewers will notice the slow loading of pages.

Magento is the best eccomerce CMS available. It's hard to learn, but much more flexible than its similar CMSs. The only con is that it is not lightweight: you've got to have a good server to handle it.

Magento seems to be an extremely popular cart with developers all over the world. If you ask for the best shopping cart on many forums, members will always mention Magento as a possibility.
