A little awkward to use at first, but that's because this package is very thorough, offering a wide variety of choices. It's nice to find software that cuts no corners. Read the instructions very carefully, and you will not go far wrong.

looks promising, but is not at all user friendly.
The delete and merge buttons on the attribute page don't even work

Hint: take notes on what you do to save time when you want to setup you have a cheat sheet or a reference when you want to tweak an install. It is possible to get it to integrate visually with the rest of your site and to customize the subscription emails to look nice and professional. Have never found anything that is half as good. Remember to follow the law and don't spam people. This software gives you the ability to do it right and responsibly.

I've been looking for a while for a nice mailing list! Now I found it!
Many possibilities and you can personalize a lot.
At the end, easy to use if you know what you want to do.

phpList 3 is an excellent mailing list, yes it takes a little effort to set up but that's mainly because there are so many options.
Bear in mind it's free and does pretty everything you need of a Mailing List, it's an absolute bargain. Also, if you get stuck, check out the forum on the phplist website, there's plenty of help there, and if you get REALLY stuck, there's paid support/installation available too.
