[Resolved] MasterCard Payment Issue (2Checkout)

Update (21st June 2021) : MasterCard payments have now been restored and you can now make the payment with your MasterCard via Stripe payment gateway from our Client area for all our products.

If you are using a MasterCard and trying to make a payment via 2Checkout for any of our products you might have come across a generic error “No amount received”. Or you have your MasterCard saved on file for auto payments and wondering why the payment was not completed this article is for you.

“Visa” card and “PayPal (MasterCard and Visa)” payments are not affected and are functioning normally.

The main cause if this issue is that 2Checkout (out payment gateway) is unable to process MasterCard payments since 29th April 2021. Initially they said they are working on it and will try to resolve the issue asap but they were unable to provide a definite timeline. Even today they have the same answer they are working but are not sure when this issue will be resolved.

If you are facing this issue and unable to make payment to us please Tweet @2Checkout and report the issue so they get an idea on the number of users facing this issue.

How can I make the payment ?

  1. If you are using a Visa card, no action needed you can make the payment from the Client area as Visa cards are not affected.
  2. If you want to pay with a PayPal account, no action needed you can make the payment by selecting the PayPal option from the Invoice as PayPal is not affected.
  3. If you are using a MasterCard, you can choose the “PayPal” option on the invoice in Softaculous client area and then you will see a Guest Checkout option “Pay with Credit or Debit Card” (screenshot attached below). Using this option you can make the payment with your MasterCard or Visa without creating a PayPal account.

If you face any issues you can contact our Sales Team at sales@softaculous.com

We are trying to register with another payment gateway but the integration and adding it might take some time.

We will keep you updated on further developments on this case.

Install Softaculous and manage WordPress installations like a pro.

Benefits of Softaculous for Managed WordPress

Softaculous provides everything you need to offer Managed WordPress solution to your clients.

Auto Install WordPress

Softaculous provides API to auto install WordPress when a user purchases the hosting plan with you. Ready made modules are available for WHMCS and Blesta. For any other billing panel you can use a very simple API call.

WordPress Plugins and Themes

Along with WordPress auto install you can also configure to install custom plugins/themes. For instance if you want to install a set of plugins for better security, cache, seo, etc you can pre configure using WordPress Plugins/Themes sets and then get it installed and activated by passing parameters to the Auto Install API call.

This makes it easier to customize your WordPress instance setup without interfering the WordPress package update available in Softaculous. So no need to re-create the WordPress package when there is a new version of WordPress available.

Auto Upgrade WordPress core

Softaculous has the option to enable auto upgrade WordPress core to Minor versions or Major and Minor versions both as per your preference. This can be configured while installing WordPress or even after WordPress is installed. Or you can simple force it from Softaculous admin panel and all updates will be done as soon as the new version is available.

All plugins/themes are upgraded once every 24 hours.

Note : Softaculous takes a backup of the plugins/themes (that are going to be upgraded) before upgrade so if anything goes wrong you can restore from the backup.

Staging WordPress Installations

Softaculous offers a Staging feature where you can test upgrades before applying it on live installations to be sure that the live installation does not break.

Backups and Restore

You can enable auto backups daily/weekly/monthly or even at a custom specified time while installing WordPress or even after WordPress is installed. This ensures the sites are always backed up and in case anything goes wrong or the site is compromised you have a backup.
Backups are done in user’s home directory by default. You can also configure a custom backup directory from admin panel (maybe a server over NFS or a mounted drive for backups).

4 Simple SEO Steps for WordPress

Every search engine (like Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc) ranks websites by “crawling” them, which means that they look through all the information on web pages for keywords and other relevant information. Then, they run that information through their algorithms, which rank each site, so the best theoretical search results come first.

The higher your site ranks, the more people will see it. The graph below demonstrates that the highest rated site receives around one-third of the total clicks per search, as opposed to the lower rated sites, which subsequently receive exponentially less traffic.

ranking-position-CTRCourtesy of Marketing Land

The benefits of SEO are obvious, so let’s look at a few simple steps you can take to make your site rank a little higher.

HOW TO OPTIMIZE YOUR TITLE & TAGLINE

One of the most important SEO tools is a good site name. A title should not only brand your site but also describe the general idea of what a viewer should expect. Think about what keywords you would use to find your own site online, and then try to incorporate them into your title.

title-taglineCourtesy of WP Cookhouse

Not all sites can use keywords in their titles; artists who want to use their name as a site title, or companies that don’t have keywords in their name, should not change the title to fit a keyword. That’s why it’s also very important to have a tagline as well.

The tagline, which appears right next to your site name on search engines, is a very short description of your site. You can use the tagline to further describe your site, and use keywords that will grab your audience.

change-tagline

To change your site’s title and tagline, simply go to Settings > General in your dashboard and fill in the “Site Title” and “Tagline” fields at the top of the page.

HOW TO OPTIMIZE YOUR HEADERS

Within the content of each post, search engines will also rank keywords, and headers will be ranked the highest. There are 6 headers that can be used in each page (h1-h6), these headers are usually used as titles and subtitles, and they will enlarge the text.

The post title is also an H1 header, and should have more important keywords. Then H2-H6 are sub-headers, which are like chapter titles in a book; they tell a part of the story, but are less important than H1 to search engines, so you should use less important keywords under those headers.

change-heading

To change the text to a Header, simply open the drop down menu in the post editor, and select the header that is most appropriate.

THE BENEFITS OF AN XML SITEMAP

An XML sitemap is like a blueprint of your site, which tells the search engines what to crawl in your site. A sitemap allows search engines to find web pages that may not otherwise be crawled. For instance, if you have a page on your website that is not linked to any other pages, the search engines might not be able to find that page without an XML Sitemap. And, if the search engines say it helps them find your pages, it’s probably a good idea to listen to them.

But that’s not all that sitemaps can do for you. They can also give other important information about your site, including how often your site is updated, and other metadata that can help rank your site higher.

If the title and tagline are like the cover of a book, and the headers are like chapters, then an XML sitemap is like a table of contents in a book.

There are many options for sitemaps, you can make your own, or you can download on in a plugin. Simply go to Plugins > Download Plugins and type XML Sitemap in the search bar. There are many options, but one of the most popular is called Google XML Sitemaps

WHY CONTENT IS KING

Search engines don’t like when websites overuse SEO and try to rig the system. Google has updated their algorithms to catch websites that are stuffing keywords, and they actually lower your rank for that. It’s called “Black Hat SEO,” and it can even get you banned from appearing on search engines.

These SEO tips are only to help boost your site, they cannot replace the actual content of your site, which should be original and interesting. That should always be the main focus of a site, is the content, not how many people see it.

To put it plainly, the content of your site should be made for visitors, not search engines.

WordPress 4.1.2 Security Release

WordPress 4.1.2 is now available via Softaculous. This is a critical security release for all previous versions and it is strongly recommended to update your sites immediately.

You can refer to the following guide on how to upgrade your installations :
http://www.softaculous.com/docs/How_to_upgrade_installations

WordPress versions 4.1.1 and earlier are affected by a critical cross-site scripting vulnerability, which could enable anonymous users to compromise a site.

Three other security issues were also fixed:

In WordPress 4.1 and higher, files with invalid or unsafe names could be uploaded.
In WordPress 3.9 and higher, a very limited cross-site scripting vulnerability could be used as part of a social engineering attack.
Some plugins were vulnerable to an SQL injection vulnerability.

Four hardening changes have also been made in this release.

A number of plugins also released security fixes yesterday. Keep everything updated to stay secure.
